In addition to my teaching duties from 2001-2005, I also coached varsity cheerleading. I served in many capacities, from assistant coach to head coach. The teams that I worked with competed locally and within the state, one team even won a state title! ?
The slideshow below shows some of my cheerleaders at Leesville Road High School, where I served as head coach of the varsity team. Several of the team members pictured went on the cheer at the college level, including NCSU and UNC-Chapel Hill.
I continue to work with cheerleaders through judging regional and national events, including CheerSport in Atlanta, Georgia and the High School Championships in Orlando, Florida. I also coached cheerleading through Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation this year.
